SnapFrame is a browser extension designed to help users create beautiful mockups from browser screenshots. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of any data you work with.

2. Data We Don't Collect

SnapFrame does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data or content on external servers.

  • All screenshot capture and processing happens locally in your browser
  • Your screenshots and mockups never leave your device
  • No analytics or telemetry is collected unless you opt in
  • Exported images are stored locally on your device only

3. Optional Anonymous Analytics

You can choose to help improve SnapFrame by enabling anonymous usage analytics in the extension settings. This is completely optional and disabled by default.

If you opt in, we collect:

  • Which frame types are most popular
  • Background presets used
  • Export methods (clipboard vs download)
  • General feature usage patterns

We never collect:

  • Your screenshots or images
  • Personal information or device identifiers
  • Browsing history or URLs you visit
  • Any content you create

Analytics are processed by PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics platform. You can opt out at any time in the extension settings.

4. Local Storage

SnapFrame may store the following data locally in your browser:

  • Your extension preferences and settings
  • Recently used gradient presets
  • Custom styling configurations

This data is stored using browser storage APIs and remains on your device. You can clear this data at any time through the extension settings or by removing the extension.

5. Pro Features

When you activate a Pro license in the extension, the license key and a generated device identifier are sent to our license validation endpoint, which proxies the request to LemonSqueezy. The extension caches the activation locally so it can keep working offline. Beyond this:

  • License key validation is handled securely via LemonSqueezy
  • No screenshot data is ever transmitted
  • You maintain full control over your content

6. Third-Party Services

SnapFrame uses the following third-party services:

  • LemonSqueezy: The merchant of record for Pro license purchases. LemonSqueezy is the legal seller, processes payments, handles VAT/sales tax, and issues invoices and refunds. Billing details (email, payment information, billing address) are collected and stored by LemonSqueezy under their own privacy policy. We only receive the resulting license key and order metadata.
  • PostHog: For optional anonymous analytics (only if you opt in)

We do not use third-party advertising or user tracking services.

7. Permissions

The extension requires certain browser permissions to function:

  • activeTab: To capture the currently visible tab when you click the extension icon
  • storage: To save your preferences and settings locally

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and are never used to collect personal information.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as we add new features. Any significant changes will be communicated through the extension or this website.
