  • All screenshot capture and processing happens locally in your browser
  • Your screenshots and mockups never leave your device
  • No analytics or telemetry is collected unless you opt in
  • Exported images are stored locally on your device only

3. Optional Anonymous Analytics

You can choose to help improve SnapFrame by enabling anonymous usage analytics in the extension settings. This is completely optional and disabled by default.

If you opt in, we collect:

  • Which frame types are most popular
  • Background presets used
  • Export methods (clipboard vs download)
  • General feature usage patterns

We never collect:

  • Your screenshots or images
  • Personal information or device identifiers
  • Browsing history or URLs you visit
  • Any content you create

Analytics are processed by PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics platform. You can opt out at any time in the extension settings.

4. Local Storage

SnapFrame may store the following data locally in your browser:

  • Your extension preferences and settings
  • Recently used gradient presets
  • Custom styling configurations

This data is stored using browser storage APIs and remains on your device. You can clear this data at any time through the extension settings or by removing the extension.

5. Pro Features

When Pro features are introduced, license validation may require minimal data exchange:

  • License key validation is handled securely via LemonSqueezy
  • No screenshot data is ever transmitted
  • You maintain full control over your content

6. Third-Party Services

SnapFrame uses the following third-party services:

  • LemonSqueezy: For Pro license purchases and validation
  • PostHog: For optional anonymous analytics (only if you opt in)

We do not use third-party advertising or user tracking services.

7. Permissions

The extension requires certain browser permissions to function:

  • activeTab: To capture the currently visible tab when you click the extension icon
  • storage: To save your preferences and settings locally

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and are never used to collect personal information.
